I made an aquarium, because it was the most awesome thing I could think of.
I had a lot of art noir and illustrations laying around, and I like sea creatures. It was a natural fit. I used the magic wand tool to take the bulk of the backgrounds out, and used the eraser tool with smooth edging for the details. This took me about 7 hours, and I just sat down and did the entire thing. The first panel took the longest, but once it was done, the rest came easily. Each panel has something a bit different going on. See if you can find them all.
I think the concept of the fishbowl is refreshing and unique after seeing a lot of the same sort of collages from the rest of the class. Though, I would like to see more variations throughout the three images.
ReplyDeleteWith these collage type works, a lot of times it can become cluttered and overwhelming for the viewer. However, I think you have been successful in this work because of how much negative space you give. I would too, like more variation, but I think you have succeeded in giving the conception of a fish bowl because of the space you leave. Additionally, I enjoy the framing you have around each image, it goes along with the art noir motif you were working with. The long hours paid off, good work!
ReplyDeletea solid peace of work, i enjoy the idea and the concept. I do wish that there was a bit more variety through out the three pieces but other wise a good job well done.
